What is Selank?

Selank is a synthetic analogue of the immunomodulatory peptide Tuftsin, developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It is a heptapeptide (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro) that has been studied for anxiolytic signaling without sedation — a unique dual mechanism that distinguishes it from traditional anxiolytic compound classes.

With 40+ preclinical publications, Selank has been studied in models of BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) modulation, cognitive enhancement, immune pathway modulation, and anxiolytic signaling without the sedative or dependency-forming characteristics observed in GABAergic compounds.

Selank is classified as a research-use-only compound. It is not FDA-approved for any therapeutic indication. All references below describe preclinical (in vitro or animal model) research contexts, not human clinical outcomes.

Published preclinical research areas

Anxiolytic signaling without sedation

Studied in preclinical models examining anxiety-related behavior modification without sedative effects. Research explores modulation of GABA receptor expression and serotonergic pathway interactions without direct GABAergic agonism.

BDNF modulation

Preclinical studies examine Selank's influence on brain-derived neurotrophic factor expression in hippocampal and cortical tissue models. Research explores neuroplasticity enhancement and neuroprotective signaling cascades.

Cognitive enhancement models

Research examines Selank's effects on memory consolidation, learning acquisition, and attention signaling in preclinical cognitive performance models. Studies explore both short-term and long-term memory pathway modulation.

Immune pathway modulation

As a Tuftsin analogue, Selank has been studied for immunomodulatory activity — including cytokine expression modulation, NK cell activity, and immune response balancing in preclinical models without immunosuppression.

Selank FAQ

Research-grade Selank with 3-lab COA verification is available at SMART MD Peptides in 5mg ($42.98) and 10mg ($69.98) formulations. Every batch is publicly verifiable at smartmdpeptides.com/verify.

99%+ HPLC-verified purity across all Selank batches. Each batch is independently verified by 3 U.S. laboratories — HPLC for purity, mass spectrometry for molecular weight, and LAL endotoxin assay for safety.

Selank is studied for anxiolytic and cognitive-enhancing effects without sedation — a unique dual mechanism. Unlike GABAergic anxiolytics, it does not produce sedation, dependency, or cognitive impairment in preclinical models. It also has immunomodulatory properties as a Tuftsin analogue.

Selank is legal to acquire for research purposes in the United States. It is classified as a research-use-only compound — not FDA-approved for therapeutic use, not intended for human consumption. Licensed researchers and physicians may acquire it for research protocols.

Lyophilized (unreconstituted) Selank should be stored at -20°C, protected from light. Once reconstituted, store at 2-8°C and use within the timeframe specified on your lot-specific documentation.
