What is Tesamorelin?

Tesamorelin is a synthetic analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). It consists of a modified 44-amino-acid GHRH sequence designed to stimulate growth hormone release from the anterior pituitary. It is the only GHRH analogue that has received FDA approval in pharmaceutical form for a specific indication — the research-grade version is used for preclinical study of the GH axis.

With 40+ preclinical publications, Tesamorelin has been studied extensively in models of visceral adiposity reduction, GH axis restoration, body composition modulation, and lipodystrophy-related metabolic signaling.

Tesamorelin is classified as a research-use-only compound at SMART MD. It is not intended for human consumption in this form. All references below describe preclinical (in vitro or animal model) research contexts, not human clinical outcomes.

Published preclinical research areas

Visceral adiposity models

Studied in preclinical models examining visceral fat reduction through GH-mediated lipolysis pathways. Research explores selective reduction of trunk adipose tissue without altering subcutaneous fat compartments.

GH axis restoration

Preclinical studies examine Tesamorelin's ability to restore pulsatile GH release patterns through GHRH receptor activation. Research has explored age-related GH decline models and feedback loop restoration.

Body composition signaling

Research examines changes in lean mass to fat mass ratio, IGF-1 pathway activation, and metabolic rate modulation in preclinical models of body composition optimization.

Lipodystrophy research

Extensive preclinical and translational research on Tesamorelin's role in lipodystrophy-related fat redistribution models, including HIV-associated lipodystrophy signaling pathways.

Tesamorelin FAQ

Research-grade Tesamorelin with 3-lab COA verification is available at SMART MD Peptides in 5mg ($66.98) and 10mg ($89.98) formulations. Every batch is publicly verifiable at smartmdpeptides.com/verify.

99%+ HPLC-verified purity across all Tesamorelin batches. Each batch is independently verified by 3 U.S. laboratories — HPLC for purity, mass spectrometry for molecular weight, and LAL endotoxin assay for safety.

Tesamorelin is the only GHRH analogue that received FDA approval in pharmaceutical form for a specific indication. The research-grade version available at SMART MD is for preclinical study of the GH axis, visceral adiposity, and body composition models.

Tesamorelin is legal to acquire for research purposes. It is classified as a research-use-only compound — not intended for human consumption in this form. Licensed researchers and physicians may acquire it for research protocols and practice-of-medicine use.

Lyophilized (unreconstituted) Tesamorelin should be stored at -20°C, protected from light. Once reconstituted, store at 2-8°C and use within the timeframe specified on your lot-specific documentation.
